Bruins Off to a Tough Start in Week 3

UCLA fell behind early to Fresno State and found it hard to catch-up.
The Bruins were out dueled 38-14 in front of 80,048 at the Rose Bowl.
Trailing 16-0 with 9:44 left in the first half the Bruins got on the board with a 45 yard pass from freshman Dorian Thompson-Robinson to Theo Howard.
Howard made an over the shoulder catch at the ten yard line and pulled away from Bulldog DB Anthola Kelly.
“We knew they had a good team and they showed it against us,” said Bruin head coach Chip Kelley. “We had too many mistakes.”
DTR was 10 of 24 for 156 yards and 2 interceptions. He also led the Bruins (0-3) with 49 yards on eight carries.
Howard finished the day with 4 catches on the day for 80 yards.
On the defensive side Senior Adarius Pickett had 13 tackles seven solo and Krys Barnes the junior from Bakersfield had 8 with 4 solo, Darnay Holmes chipped in with 7.
Marcus McMaryion had 16 yards rushing and he made most of them count as he had four rushing touchdowns and he passed for another.
Jordan Mims lead the Bulldogs (3-1) ground attack with 85 yards on 21 carries.
McMaryion completed 22 of 33 passes for 270 yards enough to earn him MWC Offensive Player of the Week.
The Bruins showed their youth committing 11 penalties for 98 yards. They have a bye before heading to Colorado Sept 28th
