D’Eriq King and Josh Allen receive Walter Camp Honors

The University of Houston QB D’Eriq King was named Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week. The junior from Manvel, Texas accounted for 7 touchdowns (five passing and two rushing) in leading the Cougars to a 57-36 win over previously undefeated University of South Florida. King completed 28 of 40 passes for 419 yards in helping his (7-1, 4-0)stay atop the AAC West Division. He also rushed for 132 yards.

The Defensive honors went to Kentucky’s Josh Allen. The Senior linebacker had 11 tackles (9 solo) including 2 quarterback sacks and two forced fumbles as the Wildcats (7-1, 5-1) defeated Missouri 15-14. The win assured the Wildcats their first winning SEC record since 1977. Allen is the first Kentucky player to earn Walter Camp Player of The Week honors since 2004.
