The L.A. Clippers and Clippers players will spend next week giving back to the L.A. community at five-holiday events across the city. On, Tuesday, December 18, the Clippers will host the 13th annual Adopt-A-Family event, where six Clippers players will give 31 local families toys, dinner, and special surprises. On Friday, December 21, five Clippers players will help Crozier Middle School in Inglewood open refurbished Clippers Community Courts, courtesy of the L.A. Clippers Foundation, and distribute gifts to students as they start their holiday break.
On his off day, Los Angeles Clippers Forward Montrezl Harrell has partnered with the Boys and Girls Club, to share his time with the local underprivileged youth. When approached, Montrezl welcomed the opportunity the comedown and play video games with the children kids that won’t often to have a chance to interact with the local youth. During his time with the children, he encouraged them to “be all they can be.”
The Microsoft Store in the Century City mall hosted a game night for the Montrezl Harrell Foundations first ever event. Twenty at-risk youth from the Boys and Girls Club of Venice Beach got a chance to play NBA2K against Harrell as well as participate in some STEM activities. The Boys Club are assisting the youth in the market to learn more about the Science, Technology Engineering and Mathematics programs at the various locations in the Los Angeles market. You can get more information on the Boys and Girls Stem program by visiting https://www.labgc.org/.
Giving back to the community is an initiative which we all can get behind and support. Montrezl should be commended for sharing his time with the underprivileged youth in the Los Angeles market, as I am positive the youth appreciate his attendance and the time, he has shared with them.
