Recipe of the Week: Chef’s Salad
1 bag of 50/50 mixed greens (optional)
1 small green lettuce
1 purple onion
3 small Roma tomatoes or cherry tomatoes
2 cucumbers chopped or sliced
1 cup sliced carrot
3 boiled eggs
3 slices ham (I prefer to buy from Walmart’s deli)
3 slices cracked turkey
3 slices oven roasted chicken
3 slices smoked turkey
3 slices cheddar cheese (use whatever meats and cheeses you like remember this is your salad)
1) Once salad has been washed and thoroughly dried you can put the greens in a large bowl or platter.
(2) slice meats and cheeses into strips or chop up. Add to salad.
(3) Slice or chop onions, tomatoes, carrots, and cucumbers to the mixture.
(4) Lastly, add chopped or sliced eggs. Now you can mix or layer on a platter. That’s it! Now you have a delicious, savory salad that is guaranteed to satisfy.
But, wait if you want to add even more to the salad here are some ideas that you may like. What’s a salad without your favorite dressing. For me I used a good old fashioned buttermilk Ranch.
Croutons, olives, avocado, bacon, pepperoncini peppers, crumbled blue cheese, cranberries, or sunflower seeds just to name a few. Also, use your favorite vinaigrette or dressing just be Creative!
