Oven Roasted Chicken Thighs & Garlic Gravy
Ingredients
1. Chicken thighs or any cut of chicken preferred will work (washed and dried)
2. A cast iron skillet ( if you don’t have one use a regular skillet instead)
3. Salt, pepper, onion & garlic powder, thyme (optional)
4. 10 garlic gloves peeled and sliced
5. 3 tbsp. butter
6. 2 tbsp. flour
Directions
First, you will want to season your chicken with salt & pepper, onion and garlic powder. Brown both sides chicken for about 8 minutes on each sides. In a hot skillet sautee chicken until cooked.
Preheat oven at 400 degrees.
Once your chicken has browned remove using the drippings from the chicken. Reduce heat to medium and add the garlic and continue to stir until browned sprinkle with the flour, whisk in chicken broth, and seasonings until thickened.
Turn the heat off and stir in butter.
Tasting the gravy add more seasoning if needed.
Cover your chicken and place into preheated oven for 20 minutes.
Once chicken had cooked remove from oven.
For garnishments: before placing in the oven sprinkle dried parsley, cilantro leaves, or chives. (optional)
Serve with your choice of sides.
This is a very simple dish to make but it is so elegant in taste.
