Recipe of the Week: Easy Chow Mein

Easy Chow Mein

Thick spaghetti noodles or chow mein (I used a pack of thick spaghetti noodles)
1/2 cabbage
1 cup julienned or shredded carrots
1 cup mushrooms (optional)
1/ 2 yellow or white onion
1/3 cup minced garlic
Wok or large skillet
1/4 soy sauce
1/4 cup oyster sauce
1/3 cup rice vinegar
Sesame oil or whatever kind you may have

1) In a lightly oiled skillet or wok sauté all vegetables (don’t overcook, you want them to have some crunch to them. Once cooked put in bowl for later use)

2) Cook noodles according to directions (set aside once cooked)

3) Using about 3- 4 tablespoons of sesame oil or whatever you may have sauté garlic for no more than 15- 20 seconds, add noodles and all vegetables and mushrooms toss together with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and the rice vinegar. Continue to toss until everything is mixed together evenly. Quickly remove from heat and serve immediately.

4) Add more sauces if needed

5) Garnish with green onions and or sesame seeds

Serve with fried rice or vegetables.
