Recipe of the Week: Simple Strawberry Shortcake
Simple Strawberry Shortcake
Easy Strawberry Short Cake
I have a sweet tooth that mostly hits me after dinner, and although I try to fight it somehow it always win! I love this little treat because they’re so yummy and my version is very easy and simple to make.
Ingredients
Strawberries
Sponge cakes
Whipped cream
Sugar
Lemon juice (optional)
Directions
Strawberries that has been washed and cut into halves or quarters (it’s up to you how many and how you may want to cut them)…be Creative!
Once cut, spoon two tablespoons over strawberries and stir until dissolved. Be sure to add a drop or two of lemon juice, this will add more balance to the strawberries. (Depending on the amount of strawberries you are using you may need to add more sugar until you reach your desired amount but being careful not to use too much sugar.)
Now It’s time to pile on those luscious strawberries on top of your sponge cakes. Then, the fun part is the whipped topping. Pile on as much as you like and enjoy right away or place in the refrigerator until you are ready to eat.
Some garnishing ideas would be chocolate syrup or chopped nuts. Some may prefer to have it as is which is still delicious.
Enjoy!
