The UCLA softball team earned the #2 national seed and will play host to the Weber State Wildcats in the Los Angeles Regional in the NCAA tournament. The Bruins finished the regular season 46-5 (20-4 PAC-12) record.

The Bruins will host the Wildcats Friday at 8:00 PM on ESPNU. The other teams in the L.A. Regional are the Missouri Tigers and Cal State Fullerton Titans who will square off at 5:30 on Friday.

The Bruins have faced both teams during the regular season defeating the tigers 11-3 in six innings February 22nd and beating the Titans 5-1 on March 26th.

The Regionals are a double elimination format with the winner advancing to the Super Regionals which the higher seed team will host. If the Bruins should advance they would host the Super regionals being  that they are seeded #2 nationally. They would play the winner of the Ann Arbor Regional that has #15 seed Michigan, James Madison, DePaul and St. Francis.

The PAC-12 has five teams in the tournament with Washington the #3 seed and Arizona the #6 seed nationally. Arizona state and Stanford have been selected for the tournament also.

Freshman Megan Feraimo was named PAC 12 Freshman of the Year. She is the third consecutive Bruin to win the award. She ranks second in the PAC-12 with a 1.31 ERA among all pitchers in the conference. Feraimo also has a strikeout per seven inning ratio of 8.63 that ranks fourth in the Conference. The 2018 California and National Gatorade Player of The Year, the second Bruin to throw two no hitters in the same season.
