Rams Defense Has Edge Heading in to 2019 Season

The Los Angeles Rams Defense put on a pretty good show as they had many sound plays against the L.A. Chargers in a combined practice last weekend on the Campus of UC Irvine.
The Rams Defense came out lively and full of spunk verses the Phillip Rivers lead Chargers offense. All-Pro Aaron Donald and Donte Fowler had big surges at the line of scrimmage chasing around three different quarterbacks throughout the practice.
“I have a ways to go but I feel like I am ready to get after it right now,” said Fowler. The 5th year linebacker looks in great shape.
The Defensive backs did their part also. Darius Williams picked –off back-up QB Tyrod Taylor. Donte Deyon of Rialto picked off Cardale Jones and Crenshaw’s Dominique Hatfield also had in interception.
On the offensive side the Rams had some dropped passes and at times Geoff didn’t seem sharp. He did however put together a good drive during the two-minute drill towards the end of scrimmaging. That made things look good finishing up practice.
The Rams will hold joint practices at the Raiders in Napa next week.
These type of practices are important in that it is the most work starters will get against competition before the season starts.
Head coach Sean McVay made it be known that no rams starters will play in the pre-season game against the Raiders, Cowboys, Bronco’s or Texans.
