Trojans Get Comeback Win

“Fight On” is the USC motto, cheer and whatever you want it to be. It’s what the Trojan football team did last week against the Buffalos in Colorado. Missing several players on both offense and defense due to injury.

Amon-Ra St. Brown broke on a 37 yard run for as score to give USC the early first quarter lead. He lowered his shoulder, bounced off a tackler and jetted away for the score. Before that he only had 3 carries on the season.  It was St Browns 4th TD of the season.

CU’s Laviska Shenault raced 71 yards on a score for to give the Buffs a 24-14 lead.

The defense, missing several defenders including Christian Rector, did a lot of bending giving up 31 points through three quarters and 520 yards of offense for the game. “Some problems you have to go through,” said USC’s John Houston. “ But we went through that in the second half and we came back.”

The Trojans trailed by 10 at the beginning of the fourth. That’s when Kedon Slovis went to work.

He had two key drives, one leading to a touchdown pass to Michael Pittman Jr. The first a 44 yarder with 11:25 in the period. The second a 37 yarder to Pittman part of a drive at the 2:15 mark that milked the clock.

On the day Pittman had 7 catches for 156 yards. He was joined by Tyler Vaughns had 8 catches for 104 yards and I1 TD.

Slovis finished the day completing 30 of 44 for 406 yards.

The Trojans have a big one next week with Oregon at the Coliseum.
