The women of Junior League have been serving Kern County for more than 50 years.
Junior League is a go-to organization when businesses and nonprofits need assistance and expertise with fundraisers, events or projects. Our membership includes well-trained volunteers who are the perfect fit to serve on a Board of Directors.
You’ll see our impact everywhere! Have you noticed the Junior League sign outside the Lori Brock Children’s Museum? Did you know we launched the Women’s Business Conference? Were you aware we helped CALM with large grants and other donations? Junior League evolves with the needs of our community and has a wonderful history of creating lasting change.
Our current focus is researching and analyzing how to best support literacy in our community. Working with other nonprofits is our first step in battling illiteracy locally.
The Junior League also has an amazing Community Center downtown, which the public can rent for private events! Income earned from these rentals allows us to offer our facility as a meeting space free to nonprofits.
But we are facing a hard uphill battle in the current pandemic. Private rentals have had to cancel or postpone, causing lost revenue to Junior League. Our Spring Fundraiser was understandably cancelled for safety. Truly, the financial strain COVID-19 has put on our nonprofit will be felt for years to come.
If you would like to support Junior League so can we continue to train local female leaders for success, please consider donating to us through Give Big Kern. Just visit givebigkern.org, and search for “junior league.”
And look into renting our beautiful Community Center in the future!
