University of Central Florida QB Dillon Gabriel and Pittsburg linebacker Rashad Weaver earned this weeks Walter Camp FBS Players of the week award.   

Gabriel lead the Knights to a 49-21 win over Georgia Tech .The Sophomore QB from Mililani Hawaii completed 27-of-41 passes for a career high 417 yards and four touchdowns as UCF (1-0) rolled over the Yellow Jackets..   Coming out of Mililani, high in Hawaii he broke most records held by now CFU teammate McKenzie Milton. This is also the second time Gabriel has won the award (Sept 2019)  

Weaver had seven tackles and three total for a losses including two quarterback sacks to help the Panthers (2-0) defeated the Orange 21-10, in the ACC opener for both teams. He and his teammates held Syracuse to 171 yards with only 54 rushing. It was Weaver’s first game since the 2018 Sun Bowl.  He began the 2019 season with a pre-season injury. 

The 6-5, 270 pound Weaver is the Pitt defender to win the award since Aaron Donald in 2013 to win the Award. The senior from Fort Lauderdale also earned the same honor in the Atlantic Coast Conference.   

The Walter Camp Foundation is a non-profit based in New Haven, Connecticut. This is the 17th year it honors one offensive and one defensive player of the week during the regular season. The recipients are selected by national media members and administered by the Foundation.
