There are millions of modern manufacturing jobs coming online in the next 10 years — opportunities to create, contribute and connect. The US manufacturing industry is faced with a skills gap that will leave 2.4 million jobs empty by 2028—jobs for motivated and skilled creators. This year, the COVID-19 pandemic has put an even greater emphasis on the importance of manufacturing, making MFG Day 2020 more important than ever.

Bakersfield College invites you to Manufacturing Day 2020. Local High Schools, Jr. Highs, Middle Schools and the Bakersfield Community are welcome to attend this online event which will include virtual presentations on manufacturing related programs, along with virtual laboratory tours and demonstrations. Our Industrial Technology department encompasses multiple areas related to manufacturing and representation from the following programs will be present; Occupational Safety and Risk Management, Welding, Industrial Drawing, Architecture, Construction, Engineering, Automotive, Ag Mechanics, Industrial Automation and Manufacturing. In addition, industry employers will participate with virtual informational booths, answering questions, general inquires and demonstrate products and machines related to manufacturing.
