The Rams looked good in beating the Seattle Seahawks 23-16 at SoFi stadium Sunday. But during the win Andrew Whitworth went down in the second quarter after spraining his medial collateral and posterior cruciate ligaments in his left knee.

He’s expected to miss six to eight weeks but will not need surgery.

”It’s tough with everything he’s put on the line for us you never want to see that happen again, “ said Rams QB Jared Goff.

The 15-year veteran is the anchor of the offensive line and the spirit of the team. He’s only missed one start since joining the RAMS in 2017. The four-time PRO-bowler signed a 3-year contract extension in March. “Andrew has been so important to us, this guy is the fundamental piece to what we’ve done,” said Sean McVay. “He represents all things that are right about the Rams.”

He will be replaced by Joe Noteboom a third-round selection in the 2018 NFL Draft.

ADD RAMS: Joining Whitworth on the injured list is safety Taylor Rapp who got a knee sprain against Seattle. He is due to return in 3 to 4 weeks. Also recently signed kicker Kai Forbath has an ankle injury.
