(Bakersfield, Ca. November 16, 2020)- This past Monday the MLK CommUNITY Initiative had over 35 volunteers get out over 25,000 pounds of food the community. Over 650 boxes of food where picked up and sent out to seniors and shut in during the Covid pandemic effecting Kern County along with the rest of the county.

Healthnet were bag sponsors for the event along with the Bakersfield News Observer as we provided free copies of our most recent edition to each bag. Cap Food-Bank also handed out free masks and were a partner in the food giveaway.

MLK CommUNITY Initiative has their free food give away every 3rd Monday of each month along with weekly giveaways in between.
