California has several players that leave the state to play college football at other schools around the country. The California Roll Call show how some performed this past weekend.
C.J. Stroud (Rancho Cucamonga High) completed 31 of 38 passes for 361 yards and five touchdowns as #6 Ohio State rolled to 59-31 win over Perdue. Chris Olave (Mission Hills High, San Marcos, CA) had 9 catches for 85 yards and one touchdown.
Alabama’s Bryce Young (Mater Dei High) completed 31 of 23 passes for 270 yards and 5 touch downs as the Tide rolled over New Mexico 59-3
The #2 ranked team in the country only scored 20 points last week vs. LSU. That led Coach Nick Saban make a change.
“I really challenged them this week,” said Saban. ”I thought the energy and enthusiasm and sense of urgency was really good out there today and I think Bryce really led that charge.”
This was the fourth game of the season Young was chosen captain The former Monarch is really developing as a leader.
Mat Corral (Long Beach Poly High) threw for 247 yards and a touchdown as Ole Miss defeated #16 Texas A&M 29-19. With the win the REBELS (8-2,4-2) moved from #15 to #12 in the CFP.
Zevi Eckhaus (Culver City High) completed 29 of 38 passes for 356 yards as Bryant University (Rhode Island) rolled over Long Island 52-7,
On the season Eckhaus has thrown for 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns with only 3 interceptions in leading the Bulldogs to a 6-4 record.
