(Inglewood, CA) It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas in the City of Champions! The City where legends are made!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the City of Inglewood ushered in the holiday season on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 4pm-8pm, on Market Street (Manchester to Florence).

Market Street was packed with families as they leisurely strolled on Market Street on this chilly evening to enjoy some live entertainment, snow play day, a roller skating rink, a smorgasbord of food trucks serving delicious cuisine. Attendees enjoyed some free refreshments (popcorn, hot chocolate and festive cookies), an array of community organizations, arts & crafts, vendors and a special visit from Santa. There were interactive, engaging, holiday theme activities for the entire family.

Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr., Councilmembers Alex Padilla, Eloy Morales Jr., and Dionne Faulk were in attendance for the FREE, family-friendly festive occasion.

Ms. Claus, aka, Mori Edwards served as Emcee. Fourteen year old Aye Jay dazzled while on the ones and twos with a set of old school and classic holiday selections. You are probably wondering what a fourteen year old knows about old school jams. I can assure you that she was in good hands growing up while being home schooled in the entertainment industry. DJ QwestCoast is the proud father of this talented rising star.

La Brea Heights Service Unit of Greater Los Angeles Girl Scouts presented the Colors and led the crowd in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

Santa made his grand entrance to the delight of everyone in attendance. Santa handed out toys to local kids in the Santa Village in preparation for the holidays.

Inglewood High School Marching Band, Flag and Dance Teams performed a joyous arrangement of “Joy to the World.”

Kindle Fiddle was thoroughly entertaining as they performed holiday favorites to the delight of their parents and the appreciated crowd. Highlights from their performance featured ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” and “Silent Night.”

Residents and guest assembled near the main stage for more magic of the season. Light up Market Street Holiday Fair & Tree Lightening Ceremony is sure to become a popular annual celebration.
