Los Angeles, CA.) The cool temperatures of fall are a welcome respite from the current heatwave of summer. It is also the ideal time to check out music and dance performances in various venues around town.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, fall is just around the corner. This could only mean one thing for dancers and patrons of the performance arts.
The Music Center announced its exhilarating 2025-2026 Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center season, inviting Angelenos and dance lovers to experience a rare treat: a performance by the acclaimed dance companies. The 2025-2026 Dance at The Music Center season is dedicated to Glorya Kaufman.

The dance season will open in a couple of weeks at The Music Center’s Ahmanson Theatre with the L.A. premiere of five-time Tony ® Award-nominated choreographer and dance director Camille A. Brown’s newest work, I AM, performed by Camille A. Brown & Dancers. The following month, in October 2025, Complexions Contemporary Ballet returns to The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion to wow Angelenos again after a two-year absence. The beloved Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater continues its exclusive Southern multi-year residency with The Music Center in March 2026 with seven stupendous performances in The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Also gracing the Dorothy Chandler stage with seven performances in June 2026 will be the New York City Ballet. Making his mark at The Music Center’s iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall with a three-day engagement, July 31-August 2, 2026, Paris Opera Ballet’s Principal Dancer Hugo Marchand curates and performs in The Music Center’s BALLETNOW ®: Superstars of Paris Featuring Hugo Marchand & Friends. Marchand will bring with him an extraordinary lineup of the company’s superstar êtoiles (principal dancers) and soloists.

“In times of both challenge and triumph, dance reminds us of our shared humanity and brings us joy. When curating the 23rd season of Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center, we strive to present dance companies that, combined with their electrifying artistry, emotional resonance, and technical brilliance, illustrate dance’s power to connect, elevate, and rejuvenate the human spirit,” said Rachel S. Moore, president and CEO of The Music Center. “We invite audiences to rise with us this dance season; these extraordinary artists will deliver performances that will stir the soul, ignite our imagination, and connect us in delight and wonder.”
The Music Center debut of Camille A. Brown & Dancers launches the 2025-2026 dance season on September 12-14, 2025. Founded by five-time Tony ® Award-nominated choreographer and director Camille A. Brown, the company will present Brown’s newest work, I AM (2025), in its L.A. premiere, featuring original live music, in The Music Center’s Ahmanson Theatre. I Am deepens Brown’s exploration of Black joy and launches bold new inquiries into the power of imagination and the shape of the future. The evening-length work is inspired by the pulse of the film Drumline and the “I AM” episode of the HBO series Lovecraft Country. “The dancers, strong, flexible, and clean in their moves, seem to exult in the physical prowess, in the presence of each other to go further, dance faster, jump higher, be their best selves,” writes Splash Magazine. “They have community in each other, and they radiate joy.”
