Hawthorne, CA- The global soccer community came together for the championship match between Spain and Argentina.
L2Live Transit-First Fan Zone in partnership with King Cali of FMWC Compton took place on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 11:00 am-4:00 pm, at the Crenshaw Park & Ride/Metro Station. The address for the Park & Ride/Metro Station was listed as 3189 W. 120th Street, Hawthorne, CA. 90250.
Crenshaw Park & Ride/Metro Station was LIT! A lively crowd was split between rooting for Spain or Argentina. The championship match was nail-biting and intense, with fans on the edge of their seats throughout the match. Spain prevailed 1-0 to become the 2026 FIFA World Cup champions.
This free, family-friendly Fan Zone was enjoyed by residents and visitors. A good time was had by all as they watched the match on a large-screen TV, experiencing the excitement of the largest summer sport.
Soccer fans strolled through the Autism Resource Village during breaks in the match. This event celebrated Autism Awareness through soccer, community, and inclusion.
The L2Live Transit First Fan Zone featured interactive sports games, community activations, giveaways, food vendors and more.
The festivities cranked up a notch after the match with a stellar lineup of entertainment. Lucyanna performed a captivating and crowd-pleasing set. Her vocal range and styling were on full display as she performed “Give Me One More Reason” and “Hotel California,” accompanied by Brian on guitar. She continued with an upbeat Cumbia entitled “Escándolo,” and closed with “Show Me, Love.”
The Los Angeles Parmelettes Drumline revved up the crowd with a high-octane performance to the delight of all in attendance. This popular, talented drumline, under the direction of Lakeisha Mack, has performed at various events around town. The students in the drumline obtain self-discipline, teamwork, and leadership.
The crowd and I were groovin’ and vibing with Daisy La Rue as she performed an original track entitled “Energy.”
A surefire cure for the 2026 FIFA World Cup blues is to start making plans to attend the next World Cup in four more years. It’s never too early.
The 2030 FIFA World Cup will be hosted by three nations: Morocco, Portugal and Spain. The 2030 FIFA World Cup will take place from June 8, 2030, to July 21, 2030. The 44-day stretch will make it the longest World Cup ever, topping the 39 days in 2026. This is due to the multi-continental travel required for the 100-year anniversary celebrations.
The next FIFA World Cup will mark the tournament’s 100th anniversary. To celebrate the centenary edition of the tournament, FIFA awarded three separate opening matches to Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay as a nod to the first-ever FIFA World Cup in 1930.
