Bruins Softball Has Solid Week 

UCLA opened the series with a 4-0 victory as Senior Brooke Ynez (8-0) allowed just one hit striking out four in five innings. Faraimo and Shaw pitched an inning a piece to close out the BEARS and earn the 11th shutout of the season.

UCLA softball began the week with a 4-0 win over Howard at Easton Stadium. Taylor Tinsley pitched 5 innings allowing just three baserunners. The freshman from Lawrenceville, Georgia also struck out seven while running her record to 4-1. 

Jordan Woolery went 2 for 3 including a two-run homer in the first. Senior Megan Faraimo pitched the final two innings for her second save of the season. 

The team then traveled to CAL taking two of three games. Between the wins the team suffered an 8-0 five inning- mercy loss as Sonia Halajian (2-1) held the BRUINS to just 4 hits.

Freshman Megan Grant and Woolery knocked in all the BRUIN runs. Grant went 3 for 4 knocking in the first three runs of the game.  

In the series finale the youngsters again got things going early, in the first after Woolery walked Grant plated her with a 2-run blast to righto on the way to a 10-1 mercy after six innings. 

Maya Brady knocked in 4 with two hits as the BRUINS 25-2, 2-1 pounded out 14 hits. Brooke Ynez ran her record to (9-0) giving up 3 hits striking out 7 walking five.
