Several California high school standouts made their mark on college football fields across the country this past weekend. Here’s a look at a few of them:

Fuller Brothers Contribute for UNLV

Tre Fuller, a graduate of Liberty High in Bakersfield, recorded two tackles for UNLV in the Rebels’ 38-31 win over Idaho State. His younger brother, Cohen Fuller of Inglewood High, also chipped in with two tackles in the victory.

Daniels Shines in Kansas Stadium Debut

Former Lawndale High star Jalon Daniels had a standout performance for Kansas in the grand opening of the Jayhawks’ newly rebuilt $450 million on-campus stadium. Daniels completed 18 of 20 passes for 176 yards and three touchdowns—two of them to newcomer Cam Pickett—in a 31-7 rout of Fresno State.

Daniels also rushed for 47 yards, while Iowa transfer Leshaun Williams broke free for a long touchdown run as Kansas piled up nearly 400 yards of offense. The win marked the Jayhawks’ fifth straight season-opening victory.

For his efforts, Daniels—along with the Kansas offensive line—earned Big 12 Player of the Week honors, a recognition announced by the conference.
