Florida State and Oklahoma to Meet in WCWS Championship Series

The third-seeded Florida State softball team (58-9) and top-seeded Oklahoma (59-1) will meet in the Women’s College World Series (WCWS) Championship Series, starting on June 9 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The best-of-three series will be played at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.

The third-seeded Florida State softball team (58-9) and top-seeded Oklahoma (59-1) will meet in the Women’s College World Series (WCWS) Championship Series, starting on June 9 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The best-of-three series will be played at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.

Florida State advanced to the championship series with a 5-1 win over fourth-seeded Tennessee (51-10) in the semifinals on June 7. The Seminoles blasted three home runs in the game, including two by Michaela Edenfield. Edenfield finished the game with three RBIs.

Oklahoma defeated Stanford (47-15) 4-2 in the other semifinal game on June 7. The Sooners rallied from a 2-0 deficit to win the game. Tiare Jennings hit a two-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give Oklahoma the lead for good.

Florida State and Oklahoma have met twice this season, with each team winning once. The Seminoles won the first meeting 8-1 on February 25 in Tallahassee, Florida. Oklahoma won the second meeting 2-0 on March 11 in Norman, Oklahoma.

The championship series promises to be a close and exciting series. Both teams are evenly matched and have the potential to win the national championship.
