The accomplishments keeps going for Los Angeles Dodger ace Clayton Kershaw rolled to his 200th career win over the New York Mets.
The lefty was brilliant tossing seven scoreless innings striking out 10 walking two in with a 5-0 victory,
“This was probably the most receptive to individual attention, even from our guys, that I’ve seen,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said of Kershaw. “He’s all about the team and certainly doesn’t play for any individual accolades or credit, but he understood we wanted to take a moment for him, and he embraced it.”
The 35-year-old is now one of four active pitchers with at least 200 wins, joining Justin Verlander, Zack Greinke and Max Scherzer – all of whom are at least three years older. The next active player behind him is Adam Wainwright, who currently sits at 195 wins at age 41.
The Dodgers are not off to a flying start this season but they appear to be on their way up from a slow start. The 8-9 record at one point this season was just the third time since 2019 the team was under .500.
Kershaw’s start was clutch as the ‘Men in Blue’ are trying to right the ship after losing to the Mets the previous night part of the team having a 4-6 record in the last ten games.

In his final inning (7th) perplexed the Mets striking out the side.
“That’s why tonight is really cool — because it’s a team stat, a win,” Kershaw said. “So for me to be able to do that 200 times is just a product of being on some great teams.”
The southpaw now has 2,833 K’s for his career, moving him past Mickey Lolich for 22nd on the all-time list. He became the third Dodgers pitcher to reach 200 wins, joining Don Sutton (233) and Don Drysdale (209).
Evan Phillips pitched the 8th and Brusdar Graterol closed it out in the ninth.
Martinez spoke of Kershaw. “He got things turned around for us, I am glad I am in this side of the dugout tonight.”
