LA Bowl Set for Boise State–Washington Matchup at SoFi Stadium

The Mountain West champion Boise State Broncos and the Washington Huskies will square off in the Bucked Up LA Bowl Hosted by Gronk at SoFi Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 5 p.m.

Boise State secured its spot by defeating UNLV 38–21 in the Mountain West title game Friday night. The Broncos have now won three straight conference championships and seven overall.

Under head coach Spencer Danielson, Boise State enters the bowl at 9–4, with one of its few setbacks coming in a competitive 28–7 loss at Notre Dame. Quarterback Maddux Madsen returned from a month-long leg injury in the championship game and delivered a standout performance, completing 17 of 31 passes for 289 yards and three touchdowns, while also running for a score.

For the season, Madsen has thrown for 2,283 yards and 18 TDs, spreading the ball across seven targets including Latrell Caples, Matt Lauter, Chase Penry, Malik Sherrod, Chris Marshall, Matt Wagner, and Ben Ford.
Running backs Dylan Riley (1,111 yards, 10 TDs) and Sire Gaines (795 yards, 8 TDs) power a strong ground attack, while safety Ty Benefield and linebacker Marco Notaraini anchor the defense.

Washington arrives at the LA Bowl with an 8–4 record under second-year head coach Jedd Fisch, with three of its four losses coming against top-20 opponents: No. 1 Ohio State, No. 5 Oregon, and No. 19 Michigan.

Quarterback Demond Williams Jr. has been the engine of the Huskies offense, completing 231 of 330 passes for 2,850 yards and 21 touchdowns while also rushing for 595 yards and six scores. Washington features a balanced backfield led by Jonah Coleman (673 yards, 14 TDs) and Adam Mohammed (517 yards, 5 TDs).

Williams’ top receiving threats include:

  • Denzel Boston – 56 catches, 755 yards, 10 TDs
  • Dezmen Roebuck – 41 catches, 554 yards, 6 TDs
  • Decker DeGraaf – 31 catches, 353 yards
  • Jonah Coleman – 344 receiving yards
  • Raiden Vines-Bright – 235 yards

The Huskies’ defense is led by safety Alex McLaughlin and linebackers Xe’Ree Alexander and Deven Bryant.
