The Los Angeles Rams took control early and never looked back, cruising to a 34–10 win over the New Orleans Saints before 72,055 fans at SoFi Stadium.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford led the way with 281 passing yards and four touchdown passes—two of them to Davante Adams—as the Rams (6–2) dominated on both sides of the ball.
Balanced Attack Leads the Way
Wide receiver Puka Nacua returned from an ankle injury to catch seven passes for 95 yards and a touchdown, while tight end Tyler Higbee added another scoring grab. Running back Kyren Williams provided balance on the ground, rushing for 114 yards and a touchdown—his first 100-yard performance of the season.
Los Angeles piled up 438 total yards, compared to just 224 for the Saints. The Rams picked up 30 first downs to New Orleans’ 10 and controlled the ball for nearly 38 minutes, running 75 plays to the Saints’ 51.
Stafford’s command of the offense was evident from the start. He completed 24 of 32 passes and posted his 19th career game with at least four touchdown passes. Over the Rams’ past five games, he has thrown for 1,408 yards and 16 touchdowns without an interception—numbers that have put him firmly in early MVP discussions.
“This was one of those games where everything just clicked,” Stafford said.
Adams Moves Up the Record Books
Adams’ two touchdowns gave him 111 for his career, tying him with Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez for eighth place on the NFL’s all-time list. He finished with six catches for 106 yards, continuing his strong connection with Stafford.
“This one was sweet,” Adams said. “We’ve been clicking, and when we execute like that, we’re hard to stop.”
Dodgers’ Win Adds LA Energy
The Rams’ victory came less than 24 hours after the Dodgers clinched their third World Series title in six years. Stafford—who grew up with Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw—said the team was locked in watching the moment together.
“We were in the room last night watching, and when (Miguel) Rojas hit that dinger, man, we were all going crazy,” Stafford said. “That was the shortest team meeting before a game.”
Edge rusher Jared Verse echoed the sentiment: “Watching them dominate like that, bring another World Series back to L.A., it gets us hyped up. Now we know we’ve got to be next.”
Head coach Sean McVay added, “Happy for them, and we’ll see if we can continue to do some good stuff like they did. They inspire me—and they inspire our group.”
Defense and Discipline
On defense, Braden Fiske recorded his first sack of the season, while linebacker Nate Landman led the team with five tackles. The Rams were penalized just three times for 33 yards—a season low.
Second-year running back Blake Corum added 42 yards on the ground, and though kicker Joshua Karty missed a 39-yard field goal—his fifth miss or block of the year—Los Angeles otherwise delivered a complete team effort.
Saints Struggle to Find Rhythm
For the Saints (1–8), rookie quarterback Tyler Shough made his first NFL start, throwing for 176 yards and one touchdown to Juwan Johnson late in the first half. He also threw an interception and was sacked twice.
The loss extended New Orleans’ second four-game skid of the season.
Up Next
The Rams head north to face the San Francisco 49ers in a divisional matchup next week. The Saints travel to Carolina to take on the Panthers.
