City contractors will conduct tree-trimming maintenance in Downtown Bakersfield over two consecutive weekends, which may affect traffic and parking in the area.
On Saturday, December 13, starting at 7 a.m., crews will be trimming trees on the west side of Chester Avenue between Garces Circle and Truxtun Avenue. Expect potential impacts to parking and traffic in the right-hand lane of southbound Chester Avenue. This work is anticipated to be completed by 3 p.m. the same day.
The following Saturday, December 20, also beginning at 7 a.m., tree trimming will take place in the center median of Chester Avenue, between Garces Circle and Truxtun Avenue. Expect traffic impacts in the left-hand lanes of both directions along this stretch. This work is also expected to wrap up by 3 p.m.
