(Los Angeles, CA) In celebration of the 25th National Caribbean American Heritage Month, Los Angeles will bring together culture, cuisine, and creativity to Leimert Park Village, in an event that honors the vibrant Caribbean diaspora.

The month of June was finally recognized as National Caribbean American Heritage Month when President George Bush signed an official Proclamation on June 5, 2006.

Locally, Marikel Productions and International Eye LA announced the 2025 Los Angeles Carnival Season, which ends on June 30, 2025. “Carnival Season is the time leading to ‘Carnival Day,’ where the entire community prepares for carnival!

In Los Angeles, Carnival Day is Sunday, June 29, 2025, when ‘La Carnival on the Shaw,’ comes alive on Crenshaw Boulevard with the Grand Carnival Road Show from Obama Blvd. to Leimert Park from 4:00 pm-10:00 pm.

Los Angeles Carnival is returning to Leimert Park in June 2025 to present the Starlight Parade! Participants will be parading and dancing along Crenshaw Boulevard “The Shaw” to the rhythm of 100 drums. Now’s the time to start gathering your friends and family to join in on the fun and make parade bands that will represent your community.

The Carnival bands celebrate the vibrant talent and creativity of the band participating in this year’s LA Carnival. LA Carnival will feature an opportunity to witness dynamic collections of images; this visual showcase highlights the artistry culture, and community each band brings to the road. Parade-goers will be able to see bold costumes and powerful presence; these bands represent the spirit and energy at the heart of the Carnival experience. The bands performing at this year’s LA Carnival are Ajudisgua, Peace Players, Danza Mexica, and LA Success Steel Orchestra.

The 2025 LA Carnival Grand Roadshow will be a moving multicultural feast of masquerades, revelers, drummers, music vehicles, and lights in an exciting parade from Obama Blvd & Crenshaw Blvd. to Vernon Blvd. The festival will arrive in Leimert Park with music and spectacle to augment the culmination of the Ancestor Mask Festival and Leimert Park Art Walk which is scheduled in Leimert Park Plaza earlier that day. Each carnival group will give an onstage presentation as they arrive, with activities continuing until 10:00 pm. For more information, visit www.losangelescarnival.com Happy Carnival Season!
