
Big Week for the UCLA and USC Women
USC’s superstar freshman guard JuJu Watkins is on another level. Watkins continues to rack up awards, and entering the college basketball’s 16th week, another one is on her way. The freshman guard, once again, has collected her third Pac-12 weekly award year, named Pac-12 Player of the Week for the third time and Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for the 13th time of the season.

Both UCLA and USC women’s teams are ranked in the top 20.The No. 12 Bruins (20-5) and No. 18 Utah Utes (19-7) will square off later this week at Pauley Pavilion. The BRUINS are 5th in the PAC and will be making a bid for the Big Dance when they jump in the PAC 12 Tourney.

The women’s world of Basketball has grown so much. In just a week there was big news in the game from coast to coast. Iowa‘s Caitlin Clark became the women’s NCAA scoring leader, UConn‘s Paige Bueckers announced she will return for 2024-25, and Baylor retired Brittney Griner‘s No. 42 jersey.
Former Oregon great Sabrina Lonescu gave NBA All-Star a run for the money in a three-point shooting contest. The NBA’s all-time leader in three-point field goals came out on top 29-26.
It was the first such him vs. her competition at the leagues showcase of stars.
